The Wild Thyme Dispatch
Notes from the road
I’ve been blogging since there was a thing called a blog.
Once I knew there were readers on the other side, I couldn’t stop writing. I’ve taken breaks over the years, but my ramblings have made their way through the internet’s long arc—chat rooms, bulletin boards, web forums (including those cursed with PHP or Active Server Pages), early blogs, and platforms that don’t exist anymore. The rise of Substack and new writing tools pulled me back in.
The harder question was: where would I write about my craft?
Which craft would I even pick? Would I need a separate blog for each one?
Eventually, I realized: it’s all part of the same system.
The same patterns run through any creative process, whether it’s code, dough, infrastructure, or strategy. The logic that governs a service mesh isn’t all that different from what makes a tangy nourishing loaf, a functioning creative practice, or an earth shaking beat.
So I started Wild Thyme—a technical consulting studio, a land project, and a practice of building with intention. The Wild Thyme Dispatch is where I write about it.
You’ll find essays on architecture, systems, creation, leadership, and life on the land.
If you're curious about my more personal writing, check out my Medium archive (which goes back to 2004) or my other Substack, DemiSpiritual, where I talk about energy, spirit, and things possibly too woo for the Dispatch crowd. (but one should never assume. Take a peek and find out for yourself.)
